Department of Tourism

Description

This department was transferred from the College of Law and Administration to the College of Humanities on September 6, 2022, by order number 2/5/1595 for the academic year 2022-2023. Under the Bologna system, students acquire a range of tourism-related skills, including foreign languages, tourism industry knowledge, airline and tourism management, tourism organization, natural and human skills of tourism planning and development, as well as understanding its economic, environmental, social, and cultural impacts. Students also learn about the economic and administrative tools related to the tourism sector. Additionally, they gain proficiency in modern technologies such as GIS programs and network analysis in the field of tourism facilities and services, alongside practical work in tourism institutions.

The Department of Tourism in the College of Humanities focuses on graduating skilled professionals in the fields of tourism education, research, tour guides, and hotel management. This aims to meet the needs of the local and regional labor market, ensuring adherence to professional ethics compatible with market demands. The department fosters interaction between academic and practical aspects, emphasizing specialties directly related to tourism. Additionally, it actively contributes to the development of scientific research in various tourism fields, serving the overall advancement of the tourism industry and society.
